Preparing for your Operation

If you’re planning to have surgery, you’ll want to spend some time preparing. That means taking care of your health, learning as much as you can about the procedure and getting to know the people who will be taking care of you. Planning ahead can help ensure you have a successful procedure and heal faster with a smooth recovery.

There are several things you’ll need to do prior to the day of your operation. This includes ensuring you have read the relevant information about your operation, organising appropriate time off to recover, and understanding the various costs associated with the operation (if in a private hospital) ahead of time.

Please use the following patient checklist as a guide to being ready for surgery.
